Here’s a little insight into my crazy world of computers and multiple devices ..
You see, ALL of my work revolves around computers, and I like
to have access to my resources wherever I am.
So here’s what I do to keep track of articles, websites and emails
I want to look at but don’t necessarily have time the moment I find them.
Essential Tools To Stay Synced
GetPocket – I use this to keep in sync articles I want to read whether
I’m at my home PC, work PC or at a café using my Tablet.
Google Reader – subscribe to the RSS feed of blogs you’re interested.
An RSS reader is a much better way to surf the web. Take a tour:
Google Account – I can access my Google account for email,
calendar, tasks, photos, files (using Drive) from anywhere!
Password Management
LastPass – a password safe you can install
on each computer you use (plus tablet or iPhone).
On the topic of passwords…
Your passwords need to be complex and different for each
website you register with.
How are you going to remember each password?
Here’s what I do (I recommend you do the same):
- figure out a pattern and use that to create each password
- store the password in LastPass so you don’t need to remember
it, but could work it out using the pattern if you have to.

These past few weeks I’ve been working on building a funded proposal for my network marketing business.
What Is A Funded Proposal?
So, what is a funded proposal you might ask?
Put very simply, a funded proposal is an information product you create that you can either give away or sell.
By doing this you create a list of people who are interested in your product and topic in general. If you decide to sell the product, you can offset any marketing costs you have.
I was so impressed with the course I’ve been using to develop my funded proposal that I did a review and posted it on YouTube.
If you think “Oh, I don’t know enough to create my own product” – you are plain wrong.
Have a look at the video above and the preview of the course. You will see that it’s not necessary to be an expert; it’s easy to find someone else who is an expert that can provide the content you need.
You can register for a Free funded proposal workshop using this link.
If your email inbox is anything like mine, you will have seen a flood of emails recently about blogging.
Blogging Trends
Firstly, the Empower Network had their debut conference last week, which generated some massive blogging momentum.
Secondly, superstar Ray Higdon’s is in full launch mode with a new product, and it seems all the big dogs are out promoting it to their lists.
I like to watch the leader boards of these contests, and this time something surprising happened. One of my mentors for training in what I shall call ‘offline marketing’ has entered the race, and is doing very well. I first heard of Eric Worre a few years ago and I must have listed to his “Go Pro” course at least 50 times.
Eric has a pretty big following, but he’s definitely not an internet marketer. Yet he sends one email to his loyal list and immediately jumps to 5th place of the leader board.
Blogging for Old School Network Marketers
So I think that maybe the traditional, offline network marketer is waking up to the internet. They’re realizing they need to blog and brand themselves if they want to succeed in the industry.
If you’re wondering how to get started blogging, it’s really easy. There are many packages to choose from, but I like GVO for web hosting because it contains everything you need (now or later) for one low price.
The blogging software that runs on your website is called WordPress and is as easy to use as Microsoft Word.
Go on! Start your blog today!

PS. Last minute update …… I just checked my email and saw that the latest leader board for this launch has Eric Worre as #1 !
The contest isn’t over yet, but Wow!
If you are in the Home Business niche then the Best Of BetterNetworker is probably in your top 3 (like they are in mine).
One of the reasons I read magazines in general is that I like reading success stories. I secretly picture myself in a similar situation with my own story… in essence, my future.
What I like about Best of BetterNetworker is that is contains success stories from many angles of home business, and Internet marketing is readily discussed and talked about.
It’s funny that some companies in the home business niche aren’t supporting the use of the Internet and actually disprove and prevent it’s use.
That’s ridiculous! A business in 2012 that doesn’t need to embrace the internet!
But back to BetterNetworker …
The past issues of BetterNetworker have been released on the site and are well worth downloading to read. My favourite issue is the Daegan Smith interview issue because I’ve learned a lot from Daegan.
By the way, my other top 2 magazines are Success and Time. I used to have a subscrition for Time but no longer (too much bad news).
Success magazine has an online version, buy the way, that is incredibly cheap and worth picking up a subscription for.
What are you favorite magazines? Leave me a comment below, and share & like this post too.
Talk soon,
David
PS did you notice the people featured inside the issues? Great way for making yourself an authority figure to your potential partners!
You need to be a BetterNetworker Associate Member for that though.
In this interview, Daegan asks Matt about how he
scaled his business so fast these last
12 months… from less than 2k / month, to 120k
/month.
I have been a member of Daegan’s Inner Circle
(Maximum-Leverage) for almost a year,
and when I heard of Matt and saw his marketing I
could see Daegans influence.
This is solid gold, and pure content.
I’ll be applying to my own business for sure to
tune up my business and take it to
the next level.
My advice, is to listen to this to this 2 or 3
times, and then schedule to listen
again in 6 months.
It took Matt 3 and a half years to learn some of
the things he reveals in this
interview, and there’s no reason for you to have
to learn those lessons the hard
way.
Enjoy,
David Gilks
PS. make sure you stay on till the end Daegan
talks about a guy who sold over
10 mill at a live event – and a surprising way he
structured a payment plan and
got 3 times the revenue…
Here’s a side of Internet marketing that you might be interested in:
Buying and Selling Websites
I heard about this about 6 months ago and it’s amazing what some sites sell for. You can essentially buy a business with an income stream, if you’ve got the cash to buy with.
The most popular site for buying and selling sites is Flippa http://flippa.com
Here’s an interview with Matt Mickiewicz (Co-founder) I saw on YouTube
“How to Sell Your WordPress Blog at Flippa”
Why sell a website?
Maybe, like me, you want to focus on something other than a website you have? You could just let it die, but why not see what it can sell for?
Another alternative is to build niche websites and sell them at a profit.
Why buy a website?
Buying an existing website can give you instant organic search traffic and Google page ranking. If you build a site from scratch it takes months to happen.
You could also pick up a bargain. If you can spot them, that could be quite lucrative.
I’ve been marketing online for just over a year, and in that time I’ve tried lots of things and I have bought a large number of domains and have half built blogs on most of them.
So last week I decided I’ll get rid of all those distractions so I can focus on my core business. As a frequent reader/visitor, you will know that is Internet marketing training and affiliate marketing.
I’ve put my first site up for sale and it’s getting a few bids already. I expect it to sell for about $300. It’s quite new, so doesn’t get much traffic, but it is a good, keyword rich domain.
It’s my Empower Network Review site up for sale. The Empower Network is exploding right now, so I’m sure the right person will recognize it’s potential.
